MiClub Help Website: Updated FAQ
The MiClub FAQ page has been updated following completion of the Golf Australia webinars held on Tuesday 22 July. Questions of note raised during and after the presentations include:
- The availability of handicapping services during the system transition period (29 September – 10 October)
- Specific dates for the migration of MiClub client sites to the new Golf Australia CONNECT platform
- The availability of the MiClub golf platform and MiScore digital scoring app to run non-handicapped competitions during the transition period.
- Requirements for members accessing new Golf Australia digital assets to view their handicap online (web / mobile) including the new Golf Australia app.
- The dates for implementation of the Golf Australia CONNECT platform were decided by Golf Australia. These dates were not chosen nor recommended by MiClub.

Upcoming Webinars: Preparing for Golf Australia CONNECT Implementation
During September, MiClub will be hosting a series of informative webinars outlining key changes to our products in preparation for the Golf Australia CONNECT rollout.
These sessions will be delivered in partnership with Golf Australia to ensure clubs receive clear, step-by-step guidance on using the Golf Australia CONNECT platform and understanding the related updates in MiClub Golf / OneGolf.
Invitations to register online for these Webinars will be emailed to all clients in mid-August. Online registration will also be accessible via the clubs own MiClub admin portal along with the MiClub Help Site.
MiClub Golf / MiScore App: Availability during transition period
As per Golf Australia’s recommendations, clubs should plan to run non-handicapped competitions only between Monday 29 September and Friday 10 October and clearly inform members that handicapping services are not available during this time.
- MiClub Golf / OneGolf and the MiScore digital scoring app will both be available to run non-handicapped competitions during the transition period. Please note that the following setup will apply during this period:
- MiClub Golf / OneGolf will store all members GA handicaps as calculated at the conclusion of the operation of the current Golf Link platform as of Sunday 28 September.
- Daily handicap calculations for individual competitions remain unchanged
- Visiting players registered in club competitions would need to be allocated a temporary Golf Link number and handicap (Note: handicap lookup for visiting players is unavailable)
- MiScore functionality for comp registration, player / marker selection and scoring remain unchanged
- Competition prize allocation and posting to member account procedures remain unchanged.
Clubs should also note that competitions run during the system transition period cannot be retrospectively handicapped once the club has been transferred to the Golf Australia CONNECT platform.

While MiClub understands the inconvenience clubs are experiencing not being able to submit competition scores for handicapping during this transition period, it is important to emphasise the scale of the required system upgrade. In terms of complexity, the Golf Australia CONNECT implementation is the most significant systems transition MiClub has undertaken in its 25-year history.
MiClub’s internal procedures required for this system transition include the following:
- All sites upgraded individually to latest golf development build supporting the new Golf Australia CONNECT integration
- All sites are individually configured with their respective Golf Australia CONNECT settings
- All system data including member details, individual tee block and hole information, course ratings and other system identifiers are synchronised between MiClub Golf / OneGolf and Golf Australia CONNECT
- All sites are individually tested to validate successful data integration, competition submission and individual player handicap updates
IMPORTANT NOTE:
While MiClub Golf is available to run non-handicapped competitions during the Golf Australia CONNECT transition period, clubs are requested to NOT run any competitions on the date of the system upgrades as per the above schedule.
CHANGES TO SYSTEM PROCEDURES
As previously advised, changes to both handicapping and course management procedures will be required of club administrators with the introduction of the Golf Australia CONNECT system.
Notable system changes will include:
Course Management
Currently all course maintenance, including the creation of temporary holes and courses and maintenance of individual hole data (par, distance, index) is completed on the MiClub Golf / OneGolf platforms.
These course maintenance procedures will now be completed on the Golf Australia CONNECT platform, with updates pushed back to MiClub Golf / OneGolf as required.
9 Hole handicap calculations
9-hole competition registration will now issue players a daily handicap calculated as half of an 18-hole handicap.
For reference a 9-hole daily handicap will be automatically calculated as follows:
9-Hole Daily Handicap = (((GA Handicap ÷ 2) x 9-hole Slope Rating ÷ 113) + (9-hole Scratch Rating minus 9-hole Par)) x 0.93 x Consistency Factor*
*Consistency Factor values: Women/Girls = 1.0483 | Men/Boys = 0.9986
Removal of total score entry
All scores submitted for handicapping purposes must be submitted as individual hole-by-hole scores (including 54 holes scores submitted for initial handicapping purposes). The current Nett / Gross score entry option will not be available in the MiClub Golf system interface.
Split 3rd indexes disabled
Split indexes will only be supported between 19 and 36 holes only. Daily handicaps over 37 will be automatically allocated the same sequence of indexes as 19-36.
Procedures for updating course indexes and MiClub Golf / OneGolf competition templates will be distributed to all clubs in due course.
Ad Hoc score entry for initial handicap cards
Ad-hoc score entry for initial handicap cards will be submitted as hole-by-hole scores. A new score value for the holes not commenced will be calculated using WHS new ‘Expected Score’ algorithms. Details for managing non-standard entry scores will be distributed to all clubs in due course.
Transfer of Golf Link number to new Golf ID
The current Golf Link number will be renamed as Golf ID and will remain with a player for life, regardless of their current club membership status or location. The current ‘transfer’ Golf Link method for members wishing to transfer their Golf Link number to a new club will be discontinued.
Clubs should also note that allocation and distribution of physical Golf Link / Golf ID cards will be retired. A digital Golf ID card (QR code) will be available to players registered to access the new Golf Australia App.
All required changes will be clearly communicated to clubs and supported by a range of video tutorials and other relevant documentation hosted on the MiClub Help Website.
TRAINING RESOURCES
MiClub will be providing a number of training resources to assist clubs with the changes in the MiClub Golf and OneGolf systems. These will include instructional documentation and a series of webinars to assist.
